Victory Man Racing, LLC is the brainchild of Shannon Kurek and Doug Grout, who built the organization to create an umbrella brand that would maintain and strengthen the distinctive brands that Doug and Shannon have built over the past twenty-plus years—HFP Racing and Run Wild Racing. A year of partnering convinced Doug and Shannon, in the late months of 2007, that merging the two organizations was the logical next step: the merger would build both brands as the continued leaders in their respective athletic communities.
Over the past 20 years, Shannon Kurek has created, grown, and developed HFP Racing into the premier multi-sport organization in the Midwest, gaining the respect of the multi-sport community on a world-wide basis. HFP Racing hosts the largest multi-sport events in the midwest, with average attendance near 750 per event and a customer base of nearly 35,000 strong. HFP Racing has close to 15 events per year that draw the highest levels of support from athletes, sponsors, partners, volunteers and the community.
Doug Grout began Run Wild Racing in 2004 in response to a need for a high quality running-based management and timing company in Central Ohio. Doug has been a multi-sport athlete and runner since 1989, and has a strong passion to continue the growth of both communities. Run Wild Racing has become the largest and strongest brand in the state of Ohio for running/walking-based events, with average attendance near 600 per event. Run Wild Racing created the New Albany 10K Walking Classic with a local walking club; within three years the event drew 3000 people, and has earned local, regional and national attention. Run Wild Racing owns 12 events and services roughly 20 clients per year, including the Columbus Crew, Upper Arlington Civic Association, the OSU Fisher College of Business, the Stefanie Spielman Foundation, the Mon County Habitat for Humanity, Club Run Wild and the New Albany Walking Club as well as many other small non-for-profit groups, clubs and causes. Run Wild Racing reaches roughly 20,000 to 25,000 athletes per year.
Victory Man Racing, LLC will allow both of these thriving organizations to build upon their successes and their wellestablished brand names, as we evolve our passions for our sports and our desire to be the most respected and wellattended race management organization in the Midwest.
